On this screen, you can configure some of the settings required for outgoing modem connections.
Many of these settings are configured automatically when running the Internet Connection Wizard. For the initial configuration of a modem for outbound data connections, we strongly recommend using the Internet Connection Wizard.
Outgoing data connections are only allowed using the modem if the PPP Outgoing Connections is enabled. Uncheck the Enabled checkbox to disable this feature.

The Global Outgoing Connections Parameters section include those parameters that control the initial establishment of the data connection.
Enter the maximum time in seconds permitted for establishing the connection in the Dial and Connection Timeout field. In the Delay Between Dialout Retries field, enter the number of seconds to wait before retrying after an unsuccessful connection attempt.

The Maximum Connection Time section holds those parameters that control when to end a connection after it has been established.
If there is no communication activity (data transfer) on the PPP link for more time than specified in the
The Maximum outgoing call duration field defines the maximum amount of time in minutes of any outgoing call. When this amount of time is reached, then the Ewon device stops the modem communication. For permanent connections, you can increase this time to reduce the risk of disconnection during important communication. You can also set this parameter to 0, which will deactivate the time limit for the connection.
However, some Internet providers require occasional disconnection and reconnection.
Use the Hang Up if No Outgoing Action After field to control when the connection is disconnected when the link is triggered by an outgoing action. To disconnect immediately following the action, set the parameter to 0. Setting it to -1 will use the Idle Time Before Hanging Up value.

The Error Recovery section includes the settings for handling unsuccessful connections.
Use the Select Next Server In Case of Error field to define the behavior of the next call to a server when the previous call was unsuccessful. The default setting is to use only server 1.
Use the Reboot Modem After field to force the Ewon device to perform a new modem detection after a defined number of outgoing call failures.
For cellular modems, use the Minimum GPRS connection duration to specify the minimum duration required for a connection to be considered as a successful. Connections shorter than this value will be considered errors. If the number of errors exceeds the value entered in the Reboot GPRS Modem After field, the modem will be reset.

Use the Call Budget Management section to set limits on the total number of hours during a particular period the modem can be used. Enter 0 in the Allocated Budget to disable the time budgeting functionality.
