Ewon Edge device registration
Register your device on Ewon Cloud
Register to Ewon Cloud (www.ewoncloud.com), or login to your space if you are already registered.
In the Machines list, click "+ Add Machine”
Enter the device information, including the Serial Number and Activation Code shown on the device label.
The Ewon Cloud automatically checks whether the gateway is already connected to the Internet.
If the gateway is detected, the registration is completed, the registration wizard will close, and the device is added to your machine list.
If the gateway is not detected, select Configure via USB (WAN). This configuration wizard allows you to define the Internet connection settings, such as:
Ethernet WAN (DHCP or static IP)
Proxy settings
Wi-Fi connection
Cellular connection (if supported)
When the wizard is completed, a ZIP file is downloaded to your computer inside the download folder.
Apply the USB Configuration
Extract the downloaded ZIP file.
Copy the extracted ewon_<serial-number> folder to a USB drive.
Insert the USB drive into the Ewon Edge gateway.
The gateway automatically imports the configuration.
After the USB drive is inserted, the Ewon Edge automatically analyzes and processes the configuration files. During this operation, the ACT LED blinks orange.
Once processing is complete, the ACT LED displays one of the following states:
Solid green: Configuration successful. The USB drive can be removed.
Solid orange: Configuration successful. The gateway will reboot after USB removal.
Solid red: Configuration failed. The USB drive can be safely removed. For troubleshooting details, review the diagnostic files stored in the commands-v1-responses and logs folders on the USB drive.
Verify the Connection
Wait until the gateway connects to the Internet and to the Ewon Cloud servers.
The UPLINK LED becomes solid green when connected through Ethernet.
The UPLINK LED blinks green when connected through Wi-Fi or cellular.
If the gateway does not come online, review the diagnostic files stored on the USB drive in the commands-v1-responses and logs folders.
You can close the wizard and check the device status again later from Ewon Cloud.
Reusing USB Configuration
You can generate a USB configuration package at any time to reconfigure an Ewon Edge gateway. This can be useful if the gateway is no longer connected to the Internet or if the network settings need to be changed, for example when switching from DHCP to a static IP configuration.
To generate a USB configuration package:
Select the Ewon Edge device from the machine list.
Open the Gateway Configuration window and make the required changes, for example under the Connectivity menu to modify the Internet connection settings.
Once the configuration is complete, do not click Apply. Instead, click the ⋯ menu next to Apply and select Download Configuration.
The USB drive can then be used to reconfigure the Ewon Edge gateway for which the package was generated, using the standard USB configuration procedure ( Apply the USB Configuration).
