Abstract

Check out how to transport data from one database to another, using the Export Import Tool, in order to ease the usage of the i4scada Application.

The i4scada Export Import  Export Import Tool enables operations of exporting information, from a database, to an XML file, importing it back to another database, and displaying differences between the different information sets. Used for migrating data from one i4scada database to another, or used for comparing data between databases and XML data, the i4scada Export Import  Export Import Tool aims for ease of usage and direct workflow.

The i4scada Export Import  Export Import Tool is used for:

  • Exporting information from a database to an xml file

  • Importing information from an xml file into a database (overwrite /extend)

  • Displaying differences between the information in the database and the information in the xml file and allowing to select just certain selected information to be imported.

Important

The i4scada Studio application and i4scada Server should be stopped, before running an import or an export operation, with the Export / Import Tool.

Description

Database server

The server that hosts the desired database.

User ID

The user name for accessing the database server.

Password

The password required for accessing the database server.

Export

Exports the database to an XML file.

Import

Imports the database from and XML file. The import can be made in two ways:

  • Overwrite Configuration - the existing Web Access settings will be deleted along with the existing Servers. The Export-Import tool creates, in this case, the settings using default values. In more detail, the Web Access settings will be created with the Client Name option set to * (all) for each imported server.

  • Extend Configuration - the existing Web Access settings will be preserved unchanged, but extended with the new settings.

Displays the differences between a database and an XML file.
