VChannels are not working after upgrading from Ewon by HMS Networks 3.1 to 3.2.4.x or 3.2.6.x

Abstract

Check out this article and learn how to find a solution when VChannels are not working after you have updated WEBfactory 2010 3.1 to 3.2.4 or 3.2.6.

Description

When upgrading Ewon by HMS Networks from version 3.1 to versions 3.2.4.X or 3.2.6.X, the VChannels might not work. This is because msscript.ocx is not longer registered.

Solution

To fix this error we need to register msscript.ocx again, using the regsvr32 command. Follow the next steps:

  1. Open Command Prompt from Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt (or open the Run dialog - Windows Key + R - and type "cmd" and press Ok).

  2. In the Command Prompt, type: regsvr32 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\msscript.ocx and hit Enter.

  3. A confirmation dialog will pop up. Press OK to close the dialog.

  4. Start the Ewon by HMS Networks Server and check if VChannels are now working.
